Boring ass 1920s Chanel-inspired knit collection.

Spring Semester 2011.

And so it begins.

Just two more semesters left and then I'm... in need of a job.

Illustrations for Sportswear.  They've been mailed to our critic in New York, and she'll select the one we'll be making this semester in class.  The scanner ate my colors; this is as close as I could get them to what they actually look like.

Seven Year Itch Isn't A Very Good Movie.

First outfit WIP for Jessdoll!
(This is incredibly vain, isn't it?)

Oh my God I don't know how to shade.

Marijess Montimroe.  I know, clever.

Blonde clearly isn't my color.

Something happened to my PSD file for the original Jessdoll.  It's, well, gone.  I'm mildly horrified.  It's an issue because I had to erase a portion of the lines of my face in order to not make the wig layer look really stupid.  No one wants brown hair sticking out of their Marilyn wig.  How embarrassing.  At least I still have the Illustrator file of the line art, but I'm gonna have to color... me... all over again.

I wish life worked like this.  Crawl out of bed, select a makeup and clothing layer, hide your gross morning layer and go.

ILY, Norma Jeane Baker.

They Call Me Mellow Chartreuse.

Halloween is just around the corner, and yet again, I can't decide what to be.
The idea behind Jessdoll was to layer possible Halloween costume designs on top and inevitably choose one.  The weekend is over, so who knows when that will happen.  I have a couple really cute ideas already.

(I included the thighs but left out the lumps.)
Damn you, fashion proportions.

Lines Of Love.

The man in my life.
Still can't get his nose right.
Newsflash:  I can't draw men.

Sewed an onseam pocket today!  I feel good.  Like, just good.  About life.  I'm not in a rut, like I usually am.  I'm in between ruts.  I have to figure out how to keep it up.

Black Bird, Fly.

A new year, a new drawing.

Evening wear has never been my forte.

I learn pants and jackets this year!  Elation.  Zipper flys are on Tuesday.  My merchandising class is looking good.  The professor is hilarious, which is always nice when you're learning a subject that isn't your strength.

Fashion design is in full swing, everything is fresh and new, and I'm off to New York in September.

The Greater Good.

The shirts are in for the Gulf Coast Wildlife Rescue Fundraiser (what a mouthful) at the Lorton Workhouse.
Find the group on facebook and help revive a delicate ecosystem.

Windshield Wipers Slapping Time.

Charles Bingley the red panda.

I haven't posted in months, and this is all I've got.
I don't know why I drew him so small.

Void.

I haven't been accomplishing much lately.  And yet I don't have time to sleep either.  I just finished a physics project, very reluctantly, and because of it, had to forgo the patternmaking final that was also due today.  I wish it didn't have to be one or the other.

On the bright side, there was a rainbow in my window ten minutes ago.

Here's something... kind of.  Ok.  I think Hugo Weaving is really cool.  Like, can wear a fancy elf tiara and still be really cool cool.  I mean the man's name is Hugo.  So here's my sad attempt.

"  Isildurrr!!!"

He looks more like Jack Nicholson.  Ehh.  I'll remember how to draw if it's the last thing I do.
I also really want to draw grump!hobbit.

Festival Of Fools.

What happened last night.

Mmm.  Needs more fail sauce.

In reality, I got a B.  I'm not sure how that happened.  Even though I was the last person in my seat, and left half the character questions blank.  Because that is what my head was.  Blank.

...The more I look at this, the more it looks like Quasimodo.

Chief Sucks-at-faces.

"Notes" from Physics lecture.  My faces are so freaking bad.

Heap big Chinese test tonight.  I can remember the Pinyin, it's the characters I have trouble with.

Working on a 'tree skirt'.  Yeah.  The fashion department does it every year.  Every student in the sophomore class picks a tree in Maymont Park and designs a skirt for it, so for a week, all the trees are wearing skirts.  It's pretty hilarious.  Maymont loves it.  They get news coverage and everything.  I'm making a tree bride, or, Entwife, if you prefer.  She has a big train and a veil.  Sadly, she has no groom.  It will be a very depressing wedding.  Pictures next week.

The illustration of the Asian kids makes me laugh.

Woah There.

Well, I finally got my Wacom Intuos4, and mama like.  I decided on the small, because it fits perfectly in my leather saddle bag and, well, it's less money.  I've been using it all day and let me tell you, I am so fucking unwieldy with this little bastard.  The sensitivity on the nib is phenomenal, if only I could adjust to using it.  I'm having considerable trouble keeping my strokes at consistent weights.  Aside from my retardation, this is an extraordinary product.

As a sort of post-CD tutorial-tutorial, I traced over my Rancor sketch to see if I could improve my lines and play around with some coloring.  (I started with the cuff.  Can you tell?  o_O )  I got a little bit better throughout, but the fact is... this took me all day.

Will the girl accustomed to drawing and coloring with her laptop's trackpad learn to harness the awesome power of an actual professional pen tablet?  Will she ever learn that she doesn't actually have the Force when reaching for something just out of reach from the couch?  Stay tooned.

That is misspelled on purpose.

Work In Progress.

So.  Sleeping from 3-6:30 pm apparently means being up all night.  So here's Man!Beast.  Sorry about the worst image ever.  I drew it in a gigantic bristol pad that's too big for my scanner.  Carytown Burgers and Fries with a friend tomorrow, then progress on a dress pattern (hopefully).

Keep Your Paws Off My Underwear.

Talking Colin, Velma Kelly, and a recipe for pudding pops.

Of all the elements in my life, I never thought I'd ever have to reteach myself how to draw.

I've owned my sewing machine for three years now, and just this morning cracked open the manual.  I found that my machine has an automatic button hole function.  Sweeet.

All It Needs Is A Little Love.

My new pet.

 Luke is such an asshole.
He still needs more bumps and wrinkles and whatnot.

Img Dump.

Things from freshman year and beyond :

This was a drawing of a costume for the Jester, a wisecracking superhero design for myself.  The finished result was no where near this sexy.

And, because they sort of go together...

The Joker.  The first, and to this day ONLY thing I've ever colored on the computer.

A Scanner, Darkly.

My scanner ruined her shoulder.  All of my images have a dumb shadowed edge on them that I have to go in and erase.  I wish it were less pixel-y too.  I really should invest in a proper scanner.

Asymmetrical pleated blouse worn by an extremely vapid looking girl.
